Monday, September 11, 2006 CONGRATULATIONS BROOK!! What a great weekend our family had, celebrating Brook's graduation from pilot training with the Air Force! Our family plus Grandma Randgaard and Uncle Tim and Aunt Terri made the trip to Enid. Here is a slide show that recaps the weekend.http://photoshow.comcast.net/watch/dh6GS3Dm We got there Thursday evening and met up with a friend of Brook's (and his family) for dinner. The next morning was graduation. Dan and I were HONORED to pin Brook's pilot wings on. They had a beautiful ceremony for the young men. Needless to say, we were SO PROUD of him! Brook gave us a tour of some planes. We even got to sit in one of them. Then we all got a chance to fly the simulator that they use. Oh my gosh, that is so much harder than it looks! And all we had to do was STEER, Brook did all the rest. I'm not sure who he gets his flying ability from....must be those years of NINTENDO! LOL Then we had a "military ball" to continue celebrating the graduation. You can't see this very well in the pictures, but at the end I thought we were in a war with all these rolls flying. I guess it is tradition to do that at the end of the ceremony. Brook was also honored and received the "Flight Commander Award". The plaque says this was awarded for Brook's outstanding performance, attitude, and dedication. WAY TO GO BROOK! The next day was low-key, we just kind of hung out together. We went bowled a couple games. We played girls against boys, and the GIRLS won!! :) heeheehee.... The weekend went WAY TOO fast. All of a sudden it was Sunday and time to go home. It was a weekend we will all remember forever. Thanks for letting me brag about Brook here on my blog! |
