Missions Trip

Brittany just got back from her school missions trip to Guadalajara, Mexico. What a life-changing experience for her! She had a wonderful time, and the trip made her appreciate life here in America!

Brittany (and the SCA group) helped in many different areas. They were working closely with YWAM (Youth With A Mission). They spent a lot of time with children in an orphanage. These children were basically "street kids" because their parents are in prison or on drugs. These kids know about Jesus and are excited to worship. Brittany showed us a video of the trip and tears just fell from my face when I saw 5 year olds laying hands on OUR KIDS and praying for THEM! They love the Lord! The SCA students ran kind of like a VBS program for them.

The students also visited men and women in prison. They put on a drama for them, and sang worship songs. They spent some time on the streets and saw many young adults drunk and high. They can't afford much for drugs, so they put paint thinner on a rag and just hold it up to their noses.

Time was also spent building a home for a family there. YWAM organized that and our students did the physical labor.

Brittany came home exhausted! In fact she slept until 4:15 pm the next day! She said it was hard to leave the people there, knowing that life goes on just the same day after day there, and she was on her way home to the conveniences and comforts of America.

Brittany said that God really spoke to her heart on this trip in many different ways. Not only in learning to be a servant to others, but also helping to prepare her for college. She said that she learned a lot about herself this week.

Here are some pictures of the trip:
